The data used to create these maps were obtained from U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) weekly Crop Progress Reports, with support from the USDA’s Office of the Chief Economist. During the growing season, these maps are generated each week by the USDA Office of the Chief Economist to facilitate internal USDA assessments of domestic crop progress and conditions. Therefore, these maps reflect data that were available at the time the Crop Progress Report was initially released each week, but these maps may not incorporate revised data. Persons interested in using these data for their own analyses are strongly encouraged to download these data directly from NASS using the links below.”
